Friedman Kaplan’s Commercial Litigation Practice Achieves National-Level Recognition in Chambers USA 2026 Guide

The 2026 edition of the Chambers USA guide ranks Friedman Kaplan’s general commercial litigation practice both nationally as a Tier 1 “Highly Regarded” firm and in the “Elite” table in New York, where the firm is described as having a “boutique litigation practice respected for its deep bench of experienced trial lawyers who frequently act across an impressive range of complex commercial disputes.” Additionally, Friedman Kaplan partners Eric SeilerEdward FriedmanAnne Beaumont, and Jason Rubinstein are individually ranked in Chambers’ New York general commercial disputes category.

In including the firm in its new national-level commercial disputes category and, for the third consecutive year, in Band 3 of its Elite category for general commercial litigation in New York, Chambers quotes commentary that Friedman Kaplan has “exceptional depth and talent across its team” with “a level of sophistication and judgment that is rare” and can “scale seamlessly to meet the demands of complex litigation.” Sources also note that the firm "provides excellent service levels and responsiveness, and has very high commercial and business awareness. It is a business partner." Of the 29 firms listed in the four bands of the New York Elite table, Friedman Kaplan is one of only two law firms outside of the Am Law 200 to be included.

Four Friedman Kaplan partners are ranked individually in the New York general commercial litigation table. For the ninth year, firm co-founder Eric Seiler is recognized in Band 1, with a source commenting "Eric understands both the legal and business dimensions of every issue and brings clarity and confidence to the most complex matters. Working with Eric is like having a heavyweight in your corner." In elevating Anne Beaumont to its Band 3 list, Chambers quotes sources lauding her for being “super creative,” “extremely commercial,” and having “an extremely well-versed ability to distill complex positions.” Firm co-founder Ed Friedman is praised for being “a highly sophisticated thinker,” having “a great touch with clients,” and being “collaborative, strategic, and commercially minded.” Jason Rubinstein is noted as “sharp, incisive, and practical” and “great to work with,” while producing “very good, high-end work.”
