March 15, 2023

Friedman Kaplan is proud to announce that Sofie Syed, Dania Bardavid, and Rupita Chakraborty have been selected to join the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) 2023 Fellow and Pathfinder programs. LCLD is an organization comprised of more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. LCLD’s programs are designed to attract, inspire, and nurture talent to help a new and more diverse generation of attorneys ascend to positions of leadership within the profession.

Sofie Syed will join LCLD’s 2023 class of Fellows. The Fellows program is LCLD’s landmark year-long professional development program that identifies, trains, mentors, and advances a diverse group of talented mid-career attorneys from member law firms and corporations. LCLD President Robert J. Grey Jr. noted that “since its inception in 2011, the LCLD Fellows program has produced some of the most impactful leaders in our industry.” Sofie is Friedman Kaplan’s third attorney to join the Fellows program, with partner Priyanka Wityk and counsel Elizabeth Bierut participating in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

Dania Bardavid and Rupita Chakraborty will join LCLD’s 2023 class of Pathfinders, which is a multifaceted program providing participants with the opportunity to learn from top leaders in the legal profession as well as career development experts. Over the course of seven months, the Pathfinders program is designed to train high-performing attorneys who are early in their careers on foundational leadership and relationship-building skills.

“We are thrilled that Sofie, Dania, and Rupita are participating in LCLD’s excellent leadership programs. They each joined Friedman Kaplan within the past year and are already making important contributions. I’m excited to support each of their continued development through this year’s programs and beyond,” said Friedman Kaplan Management Committee and LCLD member Mala Ahuja Harker.
