Friedman Kaplan Trial Nominated for GIR's Most Important Court Case of the Year

August 21, 2019

A matter in which Friedman Kaplan Partner Mary Mulligan, Counsel Bonnie Baker, and Associate Nora Bojar recently represented a UK national in defense of charges of fraud, bribery, and money laundering has been nominated by Global Investigations Review for its Most Important Court Case of the Year award.

The firm's client was charged as part of a large and long-running investigation into whether individuals working for Greek and British subsidiaries of Johnson & Johnson had been involved in a scheme to bribe orthopedic surgeons in Greece to use products manufactured by DePuy International, a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary.  After a lengthy trial spanning almost three years and including the testimony of 73 witnesses, she was recently acquitted of all charges.

The winner of the award will be honored at GIR's 2019 Awards on the evening of October 24 at the Four Seasons in Washington, D.C.
