Bonnie Baker Publishes Article on Mitigating Fraud Risk in Large-Scale Settlements of Sex Abuse Claims

The New York Law Journal recently published an article by Friedman Kaplan counsel Bonnie M. Baker on Los Angeles County’s $4 billion settlement resolving previously time-barred sex abuse claims and the recent revelations of fraudulent claims reported by the Los Angeles Times. In her article, Bonnie offers strategies that defense counsel, plaintiffs’ counsel, and the court can implement to mitigate the risk of fraud and other misconduct in future settlements.
