Scott Henney Elected to NYCLA’s Board of Directors and Accepts Eppler Prize on behalf of Appellate Courts Committee

May 31, 2023

Litigation associate Scott Henney was recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the New York County Lawyers Association (NYCLA). Scott also serves as co-chair to NYCLA’s Appellate Courts Committee, which received NYCLA’s 2023 Eppler Prize. The Eppler Prize, named for Past NYCLA President Klaus Eppler, is awarded each year to a NYCLA Committee or Section in recognition of reports that had or may have an impact in effecting improvements in the law or judicial system. The Appellate Courts Committee published several notable reports over the past year, and the award recognized their work on a statement providing non-partisan, objective information about the seven candidates who were in consideration to fill the Chief Judge vacancy on the New York Court of Appeals, a statement regarding Governor Hochul’s veto of a bill regarding procedures for applications of New York justices seeking certification to continue their service on the bench past the mandatory retirement age of 70, and a report proposing reforms to the New York State Unified Court System's electronic filing system.
