Eric Corngold Appointed to Commission to Investigate Public Corruption

New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman have appointed FKSA partner Eric Corngold to serve on the Commission to Investigate Public Corruption, a bipartisan panel charged with investigating public corruption and the appearance of public corruption in state government, political campaigns, and elections in New York State. The Commission will examine the adequacy of existing state laws and enforcement procedures involving unethical and unlawful misconduct, recommend changes to toughen and improve those laws and enforcement procedures, and review recent instances of reported misconduct by officials to determine how such misconduct might more effectively be prevented and punished in the future. The Commission has twenty-five members and is comprised of current and former state and federal prosecutors, academics, members of local governments and non-profit organizations, and other professionals.
