Beaumont and Reindel Speak at GAIM Ops Cayman

May 7, 2019

On April 29 and 30th, Friedman Kaplan partners Anne Beaumont and Asaf Reindel spoke at the GAIM Ops Cayman conference.

Ms. Beaumont moderated a panel titled "You Will Be Hacked: Practical Lessons in Preparing for and Responding to Cyber Incidents."  Ms. Beaumont was joined by panelists Michael D’Angelo, General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer at Saba Capital Management, Simon Fludgate, Partner and Head of Operational Due Diligence at Aksia, and Jason Elmer, Managing Partner of Drawbridge Partners, LLC. The panelists compared experiences with cybersecurity due diligence from the perspectives of a manager, an ODD provider and a cybersecurity consultant, with a focus on practical examples and how due diligence needs to evolve to address the fact that virtually every firm can be expected to have experienced some sort of cybersecurity incident.

Mr. Reindel, a member of Friedman Kaplan's Libor Transition Task Force, spoke at a speaker-hosted lunch table titled "How Fund Managers Can Prepare for the Anticipated End of LIBOR."

GAIM Ops is the alternative industries’ largest annual event for middle and back office professionals. Every year it brings together 500+ COOs, CFOs, CCOs and general counsels from hedge fund and other private funds, alongside heads of ODD and operations from institutional investors for a unique cross-section of perspectives and peer-to peer-learning.
