Berman Speaks at Campbells' Funds Focus Conference

Friedman Kaplan partner Scott Berman took part in a panel discussion at Campbells' 12th Annual Funds Focus Conference. Mr. Berman's panel was titled "Hot Topics in Fund Insolvencies," and addressed such issues as claw-back claims, litigation funding, challenges of exercising examination/document production powers outside the jurisdiction, as well as the pros and cons of chapter 11 and chapter 15 for Cayman liquidators. Mr. Berman's co-panelists included Guy Manning, a Campbells partner, Felicity Toube Q.C., a barrister with South Square Chambers, and Geoff Varga, Partner & Global Head of Corporate Recovery and Restructuring at Kinetic Partners. The panel was moderated by Ross McDonough, Managing Partner and Head of Litigation at Campbells.

Other sessions at the conference covered a wide range of issues facing the funds industry and opened up dialogue for strategies to secure future growth and stability. Speakers included fund managers, government officials, attorneys, auditors, and others.
