On November 9, 2015, Friedman Kaplan partner Scott Berman spoke at Financial Research Associates’ General Counsels Forum on Internal Investigations & Compliance at the Princeton Club in New York.  Mr. Berman’s talk, which he delivered in conjunction with Kristen O’Conner, Employment Counsel at Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc., was entitled “Document Preservation and the Consequences of Neglect.”  The talk focused on how an effective IT team can be essential for document retention, cost and efficiency considerations pertaining to internal and external document review processes, ethical considerations relating to suspected employee destruction of documents, and implications of restrictive covenants from the employment counsel perspective.
