Blair R. Springer

Blair regularly serves as outside general counsel to businesses, startups, family offices, and investors, guiding them through a broad range of commercial matters. He is known as a commercially minded, practical transactional lawyer.

Beyond his outside general counsel work, Blair has significant experience representing entrepreneurs, strategic buyers, and private equity sponsors in complex domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions. He also advises on a variety of financing matters, ranging from early-stage venture-backed capital raises to complex secured debt financing transactions.

Blair likewise counsels executives, including private fund executives, in negotiating agreements with their current and former employers. He helps these clients navigate sensitive transitions while protecting their economic and professional interests.

Prior to joining Friedman Kaplan in 2026, Blair practiced in the well-regarded corporate/M&A and finance departments of several large law firms. 

Blair graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served overseas as an officer in the U.S. Navy for several years.
