New York City Mayor Eric Adams has appointed Friedman Kaplan partner Rahul Agarwal to the Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB), the largest police oversight entity in the United States. In a statement, Mayor Adams commented, “Rahul Agarwal brings years of experience in public interest law and government, including his service as Deputy Chief Counsel at City Hall and as a commissioner on the City Council’s Charter Revision Commission. I’m confident that his deep commitment to justice and accountability will help the CCRB continue delivering fairness for all New Yorkers.” CCRB Interim Chair Dr. Mohammad Khalid added, “The CCRB's purpose is to help give the people a voice in the oversight of police. Rahul has worked on behalf of the people throughout his career, first as a prosecutor and later in City Hall. I am thankful to see his perspective added to our outstanding board.”
