Seiler Appointed to City Bar Task Force on Young Lawyers

FKSA litigation partner Eric Seiler will join other law firm leaders and lawyers from the public sector, public interest organizations, leading law schools, and in-house counsel on a task force convened by the New York City Bar to study the challenges that young lawyers face in today's legal market. The Task Force on New Lawyers in a Changing Profession will convene later this summer and is expected to issue a report within the next year.

New York City Bar President Carey Dunne explained the purpose of the committee: "Too many law graduates face diminished opportunities to launch their careers and fear they will never get on track. Even those who are employed are justifiably worried about their longer-term prospects for a productive and satisfying career in the law. Whether these recent changes are temporary or reflect a more fundamental shift in the structure and operation of the legal profession, the time has come for the leaders of our profession to respond."

Other members of the task force include the Manhattan and Brooklyn District Attorneys; New York City's Corporation Counsel; deans and leaders of Columbia, Harvard, Georgetown, NYU, CUNY and Cardozo Law Schools; senior attorneys from large, medium, small, and solo law firms; general counsels of several large corporations; and senior lawyers at New York-based legal services organizations.
