Andrew Englander Promoted to Counsel

March 20, 2019

Friedman Kaplan is pleased to announce the promotion of Andrew Englander to Counsel.  Mr. Englander joined the firm as an Associate in 2013, and since that time has represented major public and private companies as well as officers and directors in connection with complex commercial litigation matters, including with regard to issues of fiduciary duty. He also represents companies and individuals in internal investigations and in white collar criminal matters.

Some of Mr. Englander's recent, notable work includes representation of GSO Capital Partners in high-profile litigation challenging its refinancing of debt issued by New Jersey-based home builder Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc., as well as representation of Caesars Entertainment Corporation in defense of federal and chancery court lawsuits brought by various creditor groups alleging that certain transactions violated the terms of bond issuances and the Trust Indenture Act.

"Andrew’s extraordinary work and dedication to the firm — and to the legal community in general — make him a treasured colleague, and we’re proud that Friedman Kaplan is his professional home," said Management Committee member Jeffrey Wang.

Mr. Englander graduated from Rutgers School of Law-Newark summa cum laude, and from Ithaca College. Prior to joining Friedman Kaplan, he practiced at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP.
