Rahul Agarwal Speaks at New Jersey Association for Justice’s Boardwalk Seminar on Civil Rights

Friedman Kaplan partner Rahul Agarwal spoke at the New Jersey Association for Justice’s 2026 Boardwalk Seminar program on civil rights. The Boardwalk Seminar featured thought leadership from top litigators nationwide speaking across 31 different programs on topics related to improving the practice of plaintiff trial attorneys. Rahul spoke on a panel titled “Civil Rights and the Rule of Law Through the Lens of the Ras Baraka Prosecution.” The case stemmed from the highly public 2025 arrest of the Newark Mayor at a migrant detention facility. Shortly thereafter, Rahul and the defense team obtained a speedy dismissal of the federal criminal complaint against the Mayor. Rahul was joined on the panel by co-members of Mayor Baraka’s defense team Wanda Akin of Wanda M. Akin & Associates and Raymond Brown of Pashman Stein Walder Hayden.
