On Tuesday, Feb. 5, Eric Seiler sat on a panel hosted by Reorg entitled CDS, Engineered Defaults and Exotic Transactions.  Mr. Seiler was joined by co-panelists Fabien Carruzzo, Head of Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP's Derivatives and Structured Products Group, Catherine M. Martin, Director & Associate General Counsel at Citigroup Global Markets Inc., and Eugene Gokhvat, Portfolio Manager, U.S. Corporate Credit at HBK Capital Management.

Although credit default swaps have been around for three decades, recent transactions and company defaults have raised fresh issues and provided the financial derivative instrument renewed prominence not seen since the 2008 financial crisis. The panel explored CDS basics and general trading strategies and surveyed the regulatory landscape and recent developments including in Sears, Hovnanian, Windstream, iHeart and Caesars.

The event was held between 8:00 - 9:00 AM at The Parker New York, located at 119 West 56th St. between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, and was open to Reorg subscribers.  For more information, please see Reorg's website.
