Summer Associate Program

FKSA is pleased to announce the creation of our pre-clerkship summer program for the summer of 2010. This program offers law school graduates who are starting clerkships in the fall following their 3L year ("Pre-Clerks") the opportunity to work intensively on interesting matters at our firm while getting a head start on the steep clerkship learning curve through workshops led by our attorneys.

Since FKSA's inception, we have highly prized the clerkship experience: our attorneys have clerked for judges in numerous courts throughout the country, including the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third, Fifth and Sixth Circuits; the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the District of New Jersey, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the District of Massachusetts, and the Eastern District of Virginia; the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York; and the New Jersey Supreme Court and the New York Court of Appeals.

As a result, FKSA has designed a summer program specifically for Pre-Clerks. This approximately six-week program will afford Pre-Clerks an opportunity to become integrally involved in our sophisticated practice, but will be flexible enough to accommodate evening bar review courses. Similarly, our summer social events will allow Pre-Clerks to get to know our attorneys in more relaxed settings, but will be tailored to avoid conflicts with evening bar review. Pre-Clerks will also learn clerkship-specific skills and work through simulated bench memo and opinion writing exercises in workshops conducted by our attorneys who have clerked.

Applications for Pre-Clerk positions, and inquiries about the pre-clerkship summer program or other opportunities at the firm, should be addressed to the firm's recruiting coordinator, Kimberly Baez.
