Mary E. Mulligan has joined Friedman Kaplan's litigation group as a partner. Her practice combines white-collar criminal defense and internal investigations with intellectual property litigation. She served from 1997 to 2002 as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, directing investigations and prosecutions of fraud, narcotics, public corruption, and organized crime. She then served as Senior Director, Business and Legal Affairs, of Universal Music Group, the world's largest music company, where she handled corporate compliance matters, internal investigations, and privacy issues, and supervised litigation involving copyright, breach of contract, real estate and construction, bankruptcy, employment, and transfer and licensing of technology.
