FKSA Lawyers Lead Local, International Civic and Charitable Efforts FKSA partner Eric Seiler has been elected as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Union Square Partnership. The Partnership, a private not-for-profit organization, consisting of New York City's oldest business improvement district and a local development corporation, works to ensure the Union Square community's vibrancy as a center for business, culture, and education and to improve the quality of life for its residents and businesses. The Partnership provides supplemental public safety, sanitation, business promotion, and economic development services throughout the district, and facilitates the area's continued growth by spearheading educational, economic, and park projects and acting as a liaison between community, business, and government leaders. Seiler and new Co-Chair Danny Meyer, the president of Union Square Hospitality Group, which owns the Union Square Café, one of New York City's most highly regarded restaurants, succeed Eugene R. McGrath, the chairman of Consolidated Edison, Inc., one of the nation's largest investor-owned energy companies. Along with Seiler, a number of other FKSA lawyers hold leadership positions in various charitable, civic, religious, or educational organizations: Partner Ellen A. Pringle is on the Board of Trustees of the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, which does substantial mission work in New York and in the world, particularly in the areas of homelessness, affordable housing, and services for the elderly.
