FKSA partner Scott M. Berman spoke at two programs in May, one on avoiding, and one on commencing, litigation. On May 17, he participated in a panel discussion on investing in hedge funds as part of a conference entitled "Hedge Funds Regulation and Compliance 2005" sponsored by the Institute for International Research (IIR). His remarks focused on how investors, hedge fund managers, and service providers can avoid being a plaintiff or defendant in hedge fund-related litigation. On May 31, he spoke on the strategic issues to consider in commencing an action in federal court as part of a program entitled "Winning Cases in Federal Court" sponsored by the New York County Lawyers' Association.
