FKSA attorney Rahul Agarwal recently was chosen as president-elect of the South Asian Bar Association of New York (SABANY). Mr. Agarwal will serve as vice-president in 2010 and will assume the post of president in 2011.

SABANY is a voluntary bar association dedicated to the needs, concerns, and interests of lawyers of South Asian heritage. It seeks to ensure the civil liberties of New York's South Asian community by acting as a conduit between the South Asian community and legal services and educational programs in the area. In addition, SABANY is committed to promoting the professional development of the South Asian legal community through networking, advocacy, and mentoring. Finally, SABANY seeks to educate South Asian-Americans about their legal system and to encourage participation by the South Asian community in the legal profession.
