Weintraub to Present at ABA Annual Meeting

FKSA partner William P. Weintraub will participate in a panel discussion at the 2008 Annual Meeting of the American Bar Association in New York City. The program, titled "Claims Trading in Bankruptcy: Trading Up or Trading Into Trouble?" is sponsored by the ABA Section of Business Law. Panelists will discuss the growing commercial market for buying and selling claims against corporate debtors in bankruptcy. Topics will include the rules and recent cases related to claims trading, the risks to claims traders, including equitable subordination, and the risks to publicly traded companies, including the impact on NOLs. The panel will be held on August 8, 2008, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt, New York City at 42nd Street and Park Avenue.

The 2008 Annual Meeting of the American Bar Association will take place on August 7-12 in New York City. The American Bar Association is the largest voluntary professional association in the world. With more than 400,000 members, the ABA provides law school accreditation, continuing legal education, information about the law, programs to assist lawyers and judges in their work, and initiatives to improve the legal system for the public.
