Felony Charge Against FKSA Client Reduced to Misdemeanor FKSA achieved a significant result for a client who was originally indicted on federal charges by the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York in 2008. After making a written application to prosecutors requesting leniency based on a number of factors, including the defendant's compelling personal circumstances, the Government filed a superseding misdemeanor information against the client which carried a maximum sentence of zero to six months and did not pursue felony charges. FKSA was appointed to represent the client pursuant to the Criminal Justice Act. Litigation partners Mary E. Mulligan and Andrew W. Schilling and associate Barbara J. Graves-Poller represented the client. |
