Financial Restructuring & Insolvency

Lawyers in FKSA's Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Department have represented debtors, creditors, official and unofficial committees, trustees, acquirers, and significant parties in all phases of insolvency proceedings, including chapter 11 cases, receiverships, and assignments for the benefit of creditors, as well as out-of-court restructurings and workouts. The Department also has represented clients in connection with pre-packaged bankruptcy plans, acquisition of distressed companies and assets, credit default swaps, and SIPC liquidations. Members of the FRI Department also have served as special conflicts counsel in major chapter 11 cases, and lawyers in both the FRI Department and the Litigation Department have served as litigation counsel for trustees, receivers, liquidators, litigation trusts, bondholders, creditor groups, and other parties in connection with various insolvency proceedings.
