Representation of Debtors

Members of the FRI Department have represented bankruptcy debtors-in-possession, including the following:

  • In In re G+G Retail, Inc., represented a national retailer with more than 600 stores located in 48 states.

  • In In re Sydran Group, et al., represented the debtors-in-possession, which together were the second largest Burger King franchisee in the United States, with 230 restaurants in eight states.

  • Represented AgriBioTech, Inc., a vertically integrated seed company with operations in 29 states and revenues of $350 million.

  • Represented Tri Valley Growers, an agricultural cooperative and the largest producer of canned peaches in the U.S. with revenues of $900 million.

  • Represented Landels, Ripley & Diamond LLP, a law firm.

  • Represented UniSil Corporation, the largest silicon wafer manufacturer in the U.S.

  • Represented Daley Corporation, a full-service general engineering and construction firm specializing in road and bridge building.

  • Represented Star Graphic Arts Co., a high-end graphic arts pre-press printer.

  • Represented the chapter 11 debtor in In re Everex Systems, Inc.

Special and Conflicts Counsel

In addition, the firm's lawyers are often retained as special counsel or conflicts counsel to handle claims, litigation, or other matters that the debtor's lead counsel cannot, such as the following:

  • Served as conflicts counsel for the debtor in In re Dana Corporation.

  • Retained as special counsel to the debtor in In re Spiegel, Inc. et al.

  • Retained as special counsel to the debtor in In re Global Crossing Ltd., et al.
