Gary D. Friedman
Gary D. Friedman has a broad-based transactional, commercial, and counseling practice. He represents investment funds and other investors in private equity investments; management groups and investment groups in connection with organizational and financing transactions; and other companies in acquisition, financing, and commercial transactions. Mr. Friedman has represented a private equity fund in the acquisition of a water company in the People's Republic of China; a privately-held publishing company in the sale of the company to a consortium of private equity funds; and the principals of a boutique investment bank in negotiations for a management buyout of the bank.
Mr. Friedman graduated magna cum laude from Yale College in 1973 and with honors from Columbia Law School in 1976. After graduating from law school, he clerked for The Honorable Pierre N. Leval, then of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and practiced at Debevoise & Plimpton. He is a member of the New York City Bar, the American Bar Association, and the American Law Institute.
Mr. Friedman has been selected for inclusion by Law & Politics in Super Lawyers® 2011 New York Edition for having attained the highest degree of peer recognition and professional achievement in the multiphase Super Lawyers selection process which includes, among other factors, peer evaluation. Mr. Friedman also received this designation in 2010.
