Steven E. Frankel
Steven E. Frankel's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation in a wide variety of areas, including securities fraud, professional malpractice, auditor liability, and antitrust law.
Mr. Frankel's recent matters include representation of Wells Fargo in defending against claims brought by Citigroup in connection with the merger of Wells Fargo and Wachovia; hedge funds that invested in Madoff feeder funds in litigation against the funds' manager, parent, and auditor; a Japanese bank in a lawsuit against an Icelandic bank arising out of an unsettled foreign currency swap; and a prominent international law firm in legal malpractice litigation.
Mr. Frankel graduated cum laude from Yeshiva University in 2000 with a degree in economics and was named to the Dean's List. In 2004, Mr. Frankel received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was Senior Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. After law school, he served as a law clerk to The Honorable Stanley R. Chesler of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Mr. Frankel is a member of the New York State and American Bar Associations. Mr. Frankel previously practiced at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. While at Simpson Thacher, he co-authored with Jonathan K. Youngwood a chapter titled "Due Diligence as a Litigation Defense" in the Practicing Law Institute's handbook, Conducting Due Diligence 2006.
