Lisa Swedenborg Getson
Lisa Swedenborg Getson's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and arbitration, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. She has practiced in federal and state courts as well as before arbitral tribunals, and has also represented individuals in government regulatory investigations. Her recent matters include defending individual guarantors in a lawsuit brought by a major banking institution concerning a real estate loan transaction; representing a financial institution in a dispute arising out of the financing of a real estate transaction; representing a major government-sponsored financial institution in Asia in a UNCITRAL arbitration arising out of the sale of non-performing loans to a major U.S. investment bank; representing investors who lost many millions of dollars in the Beacon Hill hedge funds; defending a manufacturer of biological therapeutic products against breach of contract and trade secrets claims; and defending a financial institution in a dispute relating to the hiring of employees from a competitor.
Ms. Getson received her A.B. cum laude from Princeton University in 1993 and graduated cum laude in 2000 from The University of Chicago Law School. She previously practiced at Schopf & Weiss LLP in Chicago. Ms. Getson is a member of the American Bar Association. She is also admitted in Illinois. |
