Amy C. Brown's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, securities litigation, employment litigation and arbitration, and white-collar criminal defense. Her recent matters include the following:

Litigation of claims against the Lancer hedge funds' auditor, administrators, directors, and prime broker on behalf of more than ninety major institutional investors, funds of funds, pension funds, and individuals that lost more than $580 million in the funds' collapse;

Successful defense of a major financial institution in a FINRA arbitration commenced by a competitor bank, which sought a multi-million dollar award for the alleged "raiding" of its employees and the purported breach of a promise to purchase a $300 million loan portfolio;

Successful defense of a major financial institution in an American Arbitration Association arbitration commenced by a former managing director seeking a multi-million dollar award under the institution's equity plan; and

Successful recovery against a major broker-dealer on behalf of a Latin American financial institution in a FINRA arbitration concerning the loss of securities.
Ms. Brown's other recent matters have included the representation of a hedge fund manager in cases arising out of its funds' dissolution; a real estate development company in cases involving claims of gender discrimination, retaliation, and housing discrimination; a major electronics manufacturer in a national class action alleging consumer fraud, deceptive advertising, and breach of warranty; and individuals and corporations in matters involving allegations of securities fraud, money laundering, and Medicare fraud.
Ms. Brown graduated summa cum laude from Boston University in 1996. She received her law degree magna cum laude in 1999 from New York University School of Law, where she was admitted to the Order of the Coif and Associate Editor of the New York University Law Review. She previously practiced at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
Ms. Brown is admitted in New York and New Jersey. She is a member of the New York City Bar.
