Gregg S. Lerner
Gregg S. Lerner, the firm's Co-Managing Partner, has a general transactional practice, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings (both public and private placements), international joint ventures, secured transactions, vendor finance arrangements, project finance, and commercial contracts. His practice currently focuses primarily on private equity transactions, representing both private equity investors and management. Mr. Lerner has been involved in the wireless telecommunications industry since the mid-1980s and has represented clients in several separate multibillion-dollar transactions (including representation of a client in its acquisition by a major European telecommunications company, a transaction valued at $50.7 billion at the time it was announced) and the issuance of several billion dollars of high-yield debt securities. In addition, he has represented numerous clients in issuances of high-yield debt securities; several telecommunications service providers in their financings with Cisco Systems Capital Corporation; a portfolio company of a private equity fund in connection with the sale of a leading provider of reusable collapsible plastic containers; and the sale of an Israeli-based technology company to Limelight Networks, Inc.
Mr. Lerner has been selected for inclusion by Law & Politics in Super Lawyers® 2011 New York Edition for having attained the highest degree of peer recognition and professional achievement in the multiphase Super Lawyers selection process which includes, among other factors, peer evaluation. He also received this designation in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010.
Mr. Lerner graduated from Amherst College, cum laude, in 1978 and from New York University School of Law in 1982. Prior to joining FKSA, he was a partner at Rubin Baum Levin Constant & Friedman, where he practiced corporate and securities law.
Mr. Lerner serves as a member of the Board of Greyston Foundation, which is based in Westchester County, New York, and supports low-income individuals and families as they seek self-sufficiency and community transformation. Greyston is an entrepreneurial and spiritually grounded organization that operates an integrated network of not-for-profit and for-profit companies providing jobs, workforce development, housing, youth services and health care. He also serves as chairman of the Greyston Bakery, a leading model for social enterprises.
Mr. Lerner is a member of the New York State and American Bar Associations.
