Christopher M. Colorado
Christopher M. Colorado's practice includes both plaintiff- and defense-side representation and focuses on complex commercial litigation, securities litigation, antitrust litigation, employment litigation and arbitration, and professional responsibility matters.
Mr. Colorado's recent matters include representation of Wells Fargo in defending against claims brought by Citigroup in connection with the merger of Wells Fargo and Wachovia; a national non-profit organization in a dispute including claims related to intellectual-property licensing and antitrust law; and an asset manager in various disputes ranging from breach of contract to auditor liability. He also is part of the FKSA team representing the trustees for noteholders in In re Tribune Company Fraudulent Conveyance Litigation seeking to recover billions of dollars distributed to shareholders in Tribune Company's 2007 leveraged buyout.
Mr. Colorado actively provides pro bono legal services, including in multiple immigration matters in conjunction with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND). In 2008, Mr. Colorado received the Legal Aid Society Pro Bono Award for outstanding service.
Before joining FKSA, Mr. Colorado served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nina Gershon of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He also previously practiced at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, where his matters included the representation of a Fortune 500 information technology company in a securities fraud class action, the defense of a Fortune 500 credit-card issuer in a class action involving alleged antitrust violations, and advising on the antitrust implications of mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Colorado graduated cum laude from Florida State University in 2002 with a B.S. in English and communications. In 2006, he received his J.D. magna cum laude from Fordham University School of Law, where he was admitted to the Order of the Coif, named to the Dean's List, and also received the Dean's Scholarship, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York Minority Fellowship Award, and the Joseph M. McLaughlin Prize for highest first-year grade point average. Mr. Colorado also served as Notes & Articles Editor of the Fordham Law Review and authored Note, Where Due Process Meets Equal Protection: Tying the Braid of Second-Parent Adoption, 74 Fordham L. Rev. 1425 (2005).
Mr. Colorado currently is an adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law, where he teaches legal research and writing. He also is a member of the Federal Bar Council's Inn of Court and First Decade Committee.
