Amy K. Penn

Amy K. Penn's practice focuses on complex business and financial litigation. Her recent matters include representation of Wells Fargo in defending against claims brought by Citigroup in both federal and state court in connection with the Wachovia merger, and ongoing advice to a major blog regarding copyright and First Amendment issues.

Ms. Penn graduated in 2000, with highest honors, from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in English. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and also received the Phi Beta Kappa Scholarship, which is awarded to the top three Phi Beta Kappa initiates. In 2001, Ms. Penn received a Master of Professional Accounting degree with a concentration in taxation from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a Dean's Scholar and Somerfield Scholar. In 2006, Ms. Penn received her J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Ms. Penn is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Texas. Before attending law school, she practiced in the State and Local Tax Consulting group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Houston, Texas.

Ms. Penn previously practiced law at Vinson & Elkins LLP, where she specialized in tax litigation. She is also admitted in Texas. Ms. Penn serves as a pro bono coordinator for the firm.
